This is my son with the goose egg he gave himself when he banged the door into his head at a Christmas party.

My kids are quite accident prone and if we are going to take family pictures, someone usually ends up with something like that on their head or a scratch across the face. I'm hoping you aren't offended by this but I was thinking of something we'd gently tease our kids for I guess. How about "Normally we have brightly colored eggs at Easter, not at Christmas" or something along those lines? Maybe that will help jump start an idea for you. :)
