You may have noticed that I haven't been posting for a while. And you may have also noticed that I am no longer CTing for Digi-designs by Nicole and Laurie's Scraps. I have decided to take a break from scrapping for a while. My babies are getting older, and I find that I don't have near as much time to get things done, let alone scrapping! So, as hard as it has been, I have let go of this hobby for now. I hope to get back some day, as it is such a great creative outlet for me.

I can't believe the summer is winding down and the kids will be back to school. So, now is the perfect time to scrap those last few pictures of summer fun! Or, in my case, I'll be scrapping several hundred photos! Digital cameras are so nice, but they can be a real curse too!

My family just returned from a 3-day camping trip today, and while it was so much fun, I am SOOOO glad to be home and clean!! And I can't wait to sleep in my own bed! I took so many pictures - I don't know how I'll ever get them all scrapped!

Laurie's Scraps has another great template set for you today, and this one is all about circles. I love circles! But they intimidate me when it comes to scrapping. I can't seem to get my circle pages to look good on my own. That's when you know it's time for a template! This set has an added perk, with text paths surrounding the pictures! I think text paths are a lot of fun, but I scrap with PSE 6, which doesn't allow the making of text paths (but I can use them if someone else makes them).

Happy Monday everyone! As much as I dislike Mondays, I have to say that I'm thrilled for today! Happy April Fool's Day!! What a crazy week this has been! Our weather is so wacky - it's been nice and springy with temps in the 60's, and it turned cold and snowy, with at least 6 inches of snow! Bleh!! I love spring, but the weather roller coaster is enough to leave me dizzy! At least I've been able to get some scrapping done! Hybrid Happenings

Hey everyone - I'm back! And this time, I have something different! I have been wanting to make a new Valentine's craft since I am so sick of snowmen! And I just love Valentine's Day - the colors, the hearts - it makes me smile! So, after spending a ridiculous amount of time searching the internet, I found just what I wanted! And here is what I came up with (click for a bigger view)!

On the circles it says, "My heart is tied to you." I lifted the idea (OK - I copied it!) from a card I saw in a gallery at Two Peas. The user is cutups and you can see her card gallery here.

My version looks like a card, but it's actually not! It's a 6x12 artist's canvas that I got from Hobby Lobby (it was $6.99 - more than I wanted to spend, but oh well!). I used From the Heart by Digi-designs by Nicole.

I debated on making the layout in Photoshop and printing that (one page to print) or printing each paper separately and cutting everything out that way (6 pages to print). I decided to print each paper (went to a copy shop and printed them 12x12 - then I have extra for other projects) and cut everything out, just to give it that extra dimension.

So...here are the steps:

Paint the canvas

Ink the edges on the center hearts, circles, and dotted paper

Stitch around the edge of the dotted paper

The red heart is "chipboard" - I glued the heart to some cardboard from a cereal box, trimmed and filed the edges.

Mod Podge everything on (first the dotted paper, then the larger hearts, then the ribbon, then the chipboard heart, then the circles)

Make bows with jute and hot glue them in place, fraying the edges

That's it!! I put it on an easel up on my fireplace mantle, and I LOVE IT!!!

In case there was any doubt, it is definitely winter where I live! It's cold, it's gray, the air is bad, and there is a ton of snow on the ground! Bleh!! I really dislike winter!!

Snow Fever

I thought I might be turning into a winter person, but after this past weekend, I think I changed my mind! LOL! It snowed ALL. DAY. LONG. on Saturday (and more yesterday)!! We got at least 10 inches! And since DH was gone to meetings most of the day, I got to be the one to drag out the snowblower and get it started for the year - ugh!!

I cannot believe how COLD it has been here lately!! Even though we had a somewhat mild November, it has just been cold! It has snowed a few times, and that started before Halloween! Man, I am NOT a winter person! LOL!

I grew up watching BYU football as a kid, and I loved when it was my turn to get to go to a game. I was in absolute heaven when I was a student there and got to attend every home game I wanted to! I haven't been to a game in a really long time, though. Life seems to get busier every year, and we live too far away now to hit a game.

If you love football too, then you'll love Nicole's newest kit, called Touchdown. It's full of fun colors, great football elements, and all the things you'll need to scrap those football memories. I cannot believe how fast this year is going - the Holidays will be here in a blink! That means family, food, fun, and a TON of pictures to scrap! I get so overwhelmed when it's time to scrap Christmas photos, because I always have soooo many of them! So I was completely excited when Laurie gave us this adorable kit to play with! Take a look at Tis the Season!

I say this a lot, but this kit is definitely going into my "favorites" folder! There are so many great stickers and ribbons, and the papers are so rich and festive! Here's a page I did with this kit - pictures from 5 years ago! Just more evidence that Christmas pictures are overwhelming for me!

I love fall!! It is full of so many good things - colorful leaves, cooler temperatures, lots of family time, Holidays, yummy food - it's all good!! If you're anything like me, the camera is starting to come out a little more often, and there are a TON of pictures that need to be scrapped! LOL!

Hey everyone! Hope your week is rolling right along! Mine is moving, but slowly! My youngest has been sick since Saturday, and you know how that goes!! Doesn't leave much time for anything!

Just wanted to let you know about a couple of products Nicole has put into her store, perfect for those of you who, like me, don't seem to have a lot of spare time on your hands!

First up is Template Temptation volume 4 - a set of 6 templates that make getting started so much easier! Take a look at the two pages I have done using two of the templates!

These have turned out to be some of my favorite pages (that happens every time I use Nicole's templates!)!! I love that her templates give me a great outline, and then I can let my creativity take over!
